MACHINIST – CNC MACHINE PROGRAMMER

Reporting directly to the department supervisor, the CNC Programmer Machinist is responsible for programming and operating our CNC Milling Machine, CNC Lathe, or CNC Router, as directed by the department supervisor. The CNC Programmer Machinist will work in collaboration with other machinists (operators, programmers, and conventional machinists), our production department, and the mechanical engineering department to manufacture the equipment and parts required for our packaging machines and production lines.

HERE ARE WHAT YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD BE IF YOU JOINED THE TEAM: 

  • Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Prepare programs and setup sheets for CNC mills, CNC lathes, and CNC routers.
  • Provide full technical support to operators.
  • Other duties and responsibilities within the candidate’s skill set and expertise.

COULD YOU BE OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE? HERE’S A GLIMPSE OF WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • College degree in mechanical engineering or diploma of vocational studies in machining techniques and/or attestation of vocational specialization in digital control (CNC)
  • Minimum of one year of proven work experience as a CNC programmer.
  • Minimum of one year of proven work experience as a CNC programmer.
  • Experience in programming CNC machines with ISO G/M – Coded language is required.
  • Proficiency in programming software such as Inventor Cam.
  • Experience on vertical milling center – 3 axis (Doosan), turning center (Doosan) – 1 spindle + lifetime tooling, CNC router (Multicam) – 3 axis – (preferred)
  • Proficiency in the use of calipers, micrometers, and measuring instruments to properly examine parts.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and cutting parameters (speed/feed) is mandatory.
  • Time management, and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good math skills.
  • Bilingual – English and French
